Questionnaire Results

These are the results from the questionnaire, I chose to use pie charts and bar charts to shown the results in which I collected. 

I have included a brief explanation on what the results mean to my magazine.

Shooting Schedule

I plan to take my photos on the 23rd December. I am going to be doing half of my planed images on this day as i'll be using Rebecca Davis, Ella Lever and Georgina Brain. I plan to use one or maybe two guitars during my photo shoot.

I will be getting them to wear casual clothes i.e. skinny jeans, converse and hoodies.

Flat Plan

This is what I plan to contain and have on each page of my magazine. I have chosen to include this in my music magazine as it is what people wanted when they answered my questionnaire.

Mock Up of Magazine

 

This is a mock up of my final magazine cover. I have done this to give me a guideline of how I am going to set it out and I am going to get some fellow students to comment on this post of their opinions or the design.

Main Country/Pop Publishers

These are three of the main publishers that I found and researched that publish either Pop or Country magazines:

Egmont Publishing - The Egmont Group is a media corporation founded and rooted in Copenhagen, Denmark. The business area of Egmont has traditionally been magazine publishing but has over the years evolved to comprise media generally.

BBC Magazines - BBC Magazines was the magazine publishing division of BBC Worldwide, the commercial subsidiary of the BBC. It is now part of a new venture called Immediate Media Company which merged the operation with Origin Publishing and Magicalia.

Prometheous Global Media - Prometheus Global Media, formerly e5 Global Media, is an American entertainment publishing company based in New York City. The company was formed by the sale of the entertainment and media division of Nielsen Business Media in December 2009.

My Poll

I have been running a poll for the last couple of days trying to get a different opinion on the colour the my audfience would want the magazine to be.

 

From this I have found out that the general public would want my magazine to be either pink and purple or browns and beiges. I have decided to also use a question on my questionnaire to see what other colours i may feature on the cover or contents of my magazine.

Questionnaire

This is my questionnaire for my music magazine, I have included key questions to help me with the setting out of my front cover. I will be using the results that I will be collecting to help me complete the task.

Target Audience

My main target audience will be teenagers due to the type of typical content of the songs, lyrics and age of the artists. The content of my magazine will influence a lot on the type of people that will buy the music magazine. The magazine will be a reasonable price due to the target audinece and as many dont have access money regularly. It will contain aricticles on up coming artists and the lasest UK top 40, it will include other features like interviews.

Country Genre

I have chosen to make the genre of my magazine county/pop as it combines two of my most favourite genres of music into one. I have also chosen this as I have been inspired by the artists I listen to they have also given me ideas of how to set out my images.

Definition a form of popular music originating in the rural southern US. It is a mixture of ballads and dance tunes played characteristically on fiddle, banjo, guitar, and pedal steel guitar.

Magazine Analysis Review

From my annotations I have found that there are many distinctive things that all popular magazine do and use to make sure that, that edition is as successful as the last one. For example I found that most magazines I saw used mid-shots and are focusing a lot on their facial expressions and attitude towards the camera. As I have annotated three magazines with quite different artists on the front I can conclude that not matter what genre they use they all use the techniques. On the magazine covers the shots that they used don't focus on the mise en scene, they rarely have anything in the shot with the artist.

From analysing these magazines I have decided to use mid-shot images and to either use country or pop genre for my magazine, I have decided this as I have been inspired by the artists that I like and listen to due to their over all image and the signals they give off through there music, images and to their fans in general.

I have also decided next that I am going to create a questionnaire/focus group to help me with some of my decisions and the over all look for my magazine. I also plan on researching contents pages and the first double page spread of some magazines to give me ideas for the rest of my magazine and what I need to include.

Moodboard

This is my moodboard it contains all of the main artists that I listen to, I hope that by doing this it will inspire what genre of music I would want to feature on my magazine. As you can see I have quite a range of different genres so it gives me many to choose from and get example from.

From doing my moodboard I have decided to use either the genres pop or country, as its the main artists that I listen to and i know an understand there style.
